23 Nov Automotive Committee Receives 2023 Contribution Award
This is the fifth time that Automotive Committee Chairman Bill Russo has received recognition on behalf of the committee, which was previously recognized for Engagement (2018 and 2022), Committee of the Year (2019), and Thought Leadership (2020).
2023 has been an historic year for the China automotive market, with domestic brands outselling foreign brands for the first time on the back of expanding New Energy Vehicle sales. It is a market which continues to struggle to recover growth in domestic new vehicle sales in the post-pandemic era. With excess capacity, Chinese brands are increasingly turning to overseas markets, and Made-in-China finished vehicle exports will approach 5 million units in 2023.
In this rapidly evolving and hyper-competitive environment, the automotive committee provided members with regular updates via monthly online “State of the China Auto Industry” webinars, and also hosted 3 offline industry conferences.
Automobility is grateful for the privilege to have Bill serve as the AmCham Shanghai Automotive Committee Chairman, and is very proud of the committee’s recognition over the past several years.
