06 Nov B–ON and MIH announce shared urban mobility vision

In a groundbreaking partnership announcement, B–ON, the global clean mobility provider, and Mobility in Harmony (MIH), the worldwide open ecosystem for electric vehicles (EVs), have revealed their shared vision to revolutionize urban mobility and last-mile delivery. The exciting announcement took place live at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo.

Under this strategic alliance, B–ON will integrate its cutting-edge “Pelkan” 100% electric light commercial vehicle (eLCV) and innovative smart package dispenser technology with MIH’s last-mile delivery and software solutions. Additionally, B–ON’s “ElectrOS” electrification services will be collaboratively integrated, enhancing the overall fleet electrification experience for customers.

The Pelkan EV, designed for urban last-mile delivery, made its debut at the Japan Mobility Show, showcasing B–ON’s innovative smart package dispenser technology. The smart dispenser aims to streamline the loading and unloading of packages, saving time and effort for drivers. B–ON estimates that this improvement in productivity could result in up to $9,000 in additional delivery revenues per vehicle annually. The smart dispenser will be available as an optional add-on for the Pelkan and can also be fitted to other vehicles, beginning in the second quarter of 2024.

B–ON’s Pelkan eLCV is cost-competitive, ergonomic, and seamlessly connected to the company’s proven operating system. It is expected to be available in 43 and 54 kWh battery variants from 2024.

The full worldwide debut of the Pelkan eLCV is scheduled for CES in January, with plans for its market introduction in 2024. This collaboration between B–ON and MIH is set to drive significant advancements in the urban mobility and electric vehicle industry.

Mobility in Harmony (MIH) is an open EV development platform initiated by multinational electronics manufacturer Foxconn, officially established in 2021, and includes industry giants such as Microsoft.
