This issue highlights the establishment of a S$30 million Autonomous Vehicle Centre of Excellence by ComfortDelGro’s venture capital fund as it seeks to future-proof itself. The aim is to develop a technology platform to support the delivery of mobility services using AVs.

The autonomous driving industry in China has grown rapidly over the past two years, with investors pouring money into robo taxis, driving robot buses or delivering bots. ZongMu Tech completes its ERound while iMotion gets its Series C+financing.

In terms of valuations, Pony.ai and WeRide are currently the top two robotaxi automated driving companies in China. Both companies accelerated their funding pace since 2020, with WeRide attracting another $400M.
