In the recent CNBC interview, Bill Russo, Founder & CEO of Automobility Limited commented that Chinese EV prices are competing ‘head to head’ with ICE vehicle prices.  In this appearance on CNBC’s Street Signs Asia program he discussed the battle between BYD and Tesla for global EV and EV battery supply chain dominance.

While Tesla is vying to win the BEV race over BYD, BYD is running virtually unopposed in the PHEV lane, where they command 67% share of this segment. This generates huge volume and scale for BYD in the race to an electric future.
