24 Aug Skyroads Partners With Urban-Air Port for Advanced Air Mobility
On Jul 20, Skyroads, an open digital operating platform for urban air mobility (UAM) control, declared the collaboration with Urban-Air Port (UAP), a British startup leading the charge in the design and manufacture of vertiports, to provide the infrastructure for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM).
As the AAM industry has to scale safely and economically, automated operations are necessary. Thus, the partnership between Skyroads and Urban-Air Port aims to create a concept for vertiport operations with airspace interaction and urban air traffic management for aerial vehicles and drones. The companies will use the latest technology to develop “digital twins”, a dynamic virtual copy of the interaction between vertiport and vehicle, which will enable decision-making in the design process.
Corvin Huber, CEO & CTO of Skyroads, said: “With UAP, Skyroads has found a forward thinking partner with whom we can advance vertiport integration into the safety-management of the overall AAM transport system. Since vertiport throughput and efficiency will be the defining factor for AAM performance for the foreseeable future, this work package is of the utmost importance for industry as a whole.”
Automobility Ltd is excited that its EXCELerate portfolio company Skyroads will partner with Urban-Air Port for autonomous Advanced Air Mobility operations. It is the first collaboration in the industry between an automatic air traffic management system provider and a vertiport developer and operator.
